Dr. Isaacs is a board-certified general surgeon who has been in practicing in Wilson, NC since 2007. He attended medical school at the University of Alabama and completed his general surgery training at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem. He performs a variety of general surgery procedures. His skill set includes both open and laparoscopic procedures to treat colon cancer and diverticulitis, gallbladder disease, hernias, and other intra-abdominal surgeries (splenectomy, Tenckhoff catheter insertions, appendectomy, and paraesophageal hernia repairs).
Outside the abdomen, Dr. Isaacs is well versed in breast cancer surgery, thyroid surgery and parathyroid surgery, and he regularly attends and is involved with the multidisciplinary breast clinic and tumor board/conference. From a vascular standpoint, he performs vascular access procedures for dialysis patients in need of arteriovenous fistula creation or graft placement in the upper extremities. He has an interest in venous disease of the lower extremity and performs office-based procedures to treat varicose veins and venous ulcers.
As the medical director of the Wilson Wound Healing Center, he sees patients one afternoon per week at that facility treating chronic wounds and incorporating the latest technology in regards to wound care (skin grafts, hyperbaric oxygen treatments, and other biologic grafts).
